Well that is all for now, happy TPT shopping everyone!

Hi everyone, it's Becky! I just wanted to remind you all of the TPT Cyber Monday & Tuesday Sale! Now is the time to purchase all of those items you have on your Wish List! I know I will be moving many of them into my cart to purchase tomorrow! Our entire Wim's Winners store will be on sale, and when you use the code TPTCYBER, you will get 28% off! Another way to save money is to leave feedback for all of those amazing items you have already purchased. When you leave feedback you receive credits towards future purchases! It's a win-win in my book! I also wanted to share two of my new products I created over Thanksgiving break! My first one is Addition & Subtraction Timed Tests (Sums and Differences of 12 and Under). There are 10 addition pages and 10 subtraction pages in this packet. I needed a way to assess my students' fact fluency knowledge, and also go along with my district's expectations of our first graders. I think these quick tests will fit my needs perfectly! My second product, and one I am very excited to use with my kiddos, is my QR Code Task Cards for the th Digraph. What you do here is post the task cards around the room, or in a center. Students will then take their device (iPad, iPod, etc) and scan the code using a QR code reader. Once they scan the code, and image, or sentence will pop up. Students will then write the word that goes with the picture or best completes the sentence on their recording sheet. AND, the recording sheets are differentiated! Sheet A has plain lines to write the words, Sheet B has the amount of spaces to go with the letters for the word (ex. 4 spaces = 4 letters), and Sheet C has a word bank that the student can use to help when writing the words. I cannot wait for my students to try this activity out on Wednesday! They are in love with our new iPads, and I really think they will get into this activity!
Well that is all for now, happy TPT shopping everyone! ~Becky

Hello everyone, it's Becky again! I can't believe I successfully blogged 6 days in a row!! That is a blogging record for me! I wanted to share my "S" for the week of THANKS! If you would have asked me 5 months ago where I thought I'd be in 1 year, I would have told you that we would be in our same house, enjoying the same jobs, with Grayson starting kindergarten. But life throws you curve balls you just don't expect and Greg and I have now found ourselves in the middle of a bunch of uncertain possibilities! It is exciting, scary, and stressful all at the same time! Some days I feel as though my heart will beat right out of my chest thinking about everything! Along with some of these possibilities and uncertainties come the nay sayers and pessimists that have been making us second guess ourselves - even considering different options. I am very thankful for my supportive friends who, although may not be excited about the possible outcomes, listen to my stressors and have offered any possible help they can give. So if you are one of my supporters reading this now, THANK YOU! You have saved my sanity these past few weeks!
Be sure to check out the other bloggers for their final day of THANKS! Happy Saturday everyone! ~Becky Hi everyone, it's Becky! I just wanted to share my thankful "K" with you all! I am thankful for my own two kids! There is never a dull moment with my boys around! I am also thankful for my 24 kiddos at school. They are the reason I love teaching. When I am with them, my day doesn't really seem like a job. It's just what I do; a part of who I am. And I LOVE first grade! Those kiddos are just so innocent and love learning and coming to school. I am so happy that December is here, because we have so much fun this month and they eat it all up! I love that the fun things we do in class will most likely be the memories they keep with them forever. I want them to look back at their first grade year with a smile! I truly don't know what or even who I would be if I weren't a teacher.
Thanks for reading, and be sure to check out the other bloggers participating in the week of THANKS! |
